About this course

Welcome to What You Need to Know About HIV and AIDS. This course was written for volunteers who give their time and talent to organizations that assist people living with HIV and AIDS. In other words, it was written for people like you.

What You Need to Know About HIV and AIDS is designed to do two things:

1. To give you a basic understanding of HIV and AIDS.
2. To introduce and explain some of the terminology you may come across.

Think of this course as way of expanding your knowledge and your effectiveness as a volunteer. We hope you find it interesting and instructive.
