  • 1H NMR spectra of classical and novel psychoactive substances (NPS) are reported, including

    • phenylethanamines (2-phenylethan-1-amines),
    • phenylpropanamines (1-phenylpropan-2-amines),
    • N-benzyl-phenylalkanamines,
    • β-keto-phenylalkanamines (2-amino-1-phenylethan-1-ones and 2-amino-1-phenylpropan-1-ones),
    • thiophenylpropanamines (1-(thiophen-2-yl)propan-2-amines),
    • phenmetrazines (3-methyl-2-phenylmorpholines),
    • aminoindanes (2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-2-amines),
    • tryptamines (2-(1H-indol-3-yl)ethan-1-amines),
    • aminorexes (4,5-dihydro-1,3-oxazol-2-amines), and
    • others.
Also reported are spectra of potential NPS precursor benzaldehydes and β-nitrostyrenes (2-nitroethenylbenzenes). This collection of experimentally uniform spectra may help forensic and harm-reduction organizations identify these compounds, some of which appear only sporadically.
